Post XFX R7750 1GB GDDR5 128bit Graphics Card Max HDMI resolution

Yes, I have the HD7750 from XFX and I also have the Samsung LED Monitor SyncMaster S22B350 but I can't fill the monitor with HD resolution from my HDMI input. It is sometimes referred to as 21.5 or 22 inc monitor but it supports 1920x1080 resolution but I cannot have this kind of HD output from my graphics card. Is it because of the HDMI cable/connection or bandwith or is it because of my video card? I can have a basic resolution of 1680x1050 but the quality is really bad so I witch to 1000p but it is only 1776x1000 resolution. Can anyone tell me the problem? Is it because of the specs of the video card, is it the HDMI cable or is it the monitor?

    Thanks a lot.

    My computer specs are here:

Check in the AMD VISION Control Center for a option called "Scaling Options" and set it to 0%.

Yeah, if there is a kind of black border around the display, make sure you check the Overscan options.

I have tried your suggestions but I can't extend the desktop area. I still have black borders.

Re: XFX R7750 1GB GDDR5 128bit Graphics Card Max HDMI resolution

I had similar issues connecting my HTPC through a receiver to the plasma, was trial and error when I did it and can't remember exactly how I got it working now.

Try enabling GPU scaling as per the second image, then enable overscan as per the first image.

Re: XFX R7750 1GB GDDR5 128bit Graphics Card Max HDMI resolution

I couldn't fix it. I think there might be a problem with the cable. But I have stable VGA (D-Sub) signal 1920x1080 and I think I am content with that. Rather than having an HD signal with black borders, I prefer this one. Damn, I wish I had 20' monitor. It's too much for me now. LOLS. But I will check into your suggestion.

Re: XFX R7750 1GB GDDR5 128bit Graphics Card Max HDMI resolution

We had it on out TV (SAMSUNG LED 32 D5000) and the problem wasn't the GPU or driver settings but the settings on the TV. Does your monitor have any basic settings which allow change in the signal display? I mean like switching between 16:9 view, or Auto Zoom or Auto Stretch or whatever they are called.

I had that on our Samsung TV. The fix was something stupid like the HDMI input had to be called "PC" to turn scaling off on that port, and that would only work on HMDI1 port. So much for progress...

Yes, it sounds like the issue is the Monitor, not the PC.

Try a different monitor via HDMI to see if it is only linked to this display.

Re: XFX R7750 1GB GDDR5 128bit Graphics Card Max HDMI resolution

I remember this issue as well and it was to do with the settings on my monitor (aspect ratio) from memory that was causing it, mine wasnt a Samsung monitor however could be the same issue.
