I am building myself a new computer for
Photo Editing using Serif Photo Plus
Home (not professional) Video Editing using Pinnacle 16 ultimate
as well as general computing work It will never be used for playing games
I had decided on the components but am now reconsidering my Graphics Card.
It was my intention to buy the Nvida Quadro 2000
After listening to a few people on Utube it appears that my minimum requirements should be 2GB DDR5, 256 bit rate, this then changes the choice to Quadro 4000 which is significantly higher in cost, quite a bit more than I wanted to pay for a graphics card, but would if it was the best option by a significant margin.
The other option and the one Nvidia "Which Graphics Card" points to, is the GeForce GTX 680 or the 690. The 690 is at level pegging to the Quadro 4000 in price so I have excluded it at the moment.
I would be interested in peoples view on the GeForce GTX 680 and the Quadro 4000.
Is the GeForce really for games as identified in Nvidia's web site and I should stick with the Quadro 4000, or is the GTX a good editing Graphics Card and the Quadro would be going over the top for what it will be used for.
The other components are
CPU Intel i7 but I am waiting to June to see if the Intel Haswall is within my budget, or worth paying a little extra
RAM 16 Gb
Blu Ray writer
Two hard drives - 240 SSD and a 2TB WD black
Asus 27inch PLS monitor
Any help, comments, advice would be welcome
