    Question Dilemma..HELP PLZ

Well, i need a new card...So, what would you refer me too between:

    Ati Radeon 9600 XT 128MB
    Ati Radeon 9800 PRO 128MB
    Ati Radeon 9800 XT 128MB
    GeForce 5600 128MB
    GeForce 6800 128MB

Which card is very noisy? I Heard that Radeon serie 9800 was HELL of a noisy thing, and GeForce 5600 also...What is true?

    Thanks a lot!

the GeForce 6800 128MB is the fastest out of all the card listed. you can always buy a Arctic Cooler Heatsink which is not that noisy and will help improve the temps.

first lets get rid of the dud cards in your list

9600XT and FX5600 should both be binned, crap cards by todays standards unless you only have £50 to spend

forget the 9800XT aswell as its pointless paying the premium for it when y ou can just flash you pro to XT

    so its either a 9800pro @ £130 or a 6800 @ £170

Personally i would stick with the 9800pro - a second hand one for £100 would be even better - then stick an arctic cooler on it and flash to XT. buying a 6800 wouldnt be a great plan as its not that big a step up from a 9800pro - its effectivly wasting your money imho

    in short - the 9800pro

Go for the 6800 - the performance in latest games will be a fair bit better than the 9800 Pro, and for older games super high resolutions with AA/AF will be possible
No point buying old technology I say!

Not particularly imho but you can always fit an Arctic Cooler Rev 3 for £10 which would lower noise and heat released into your case.

Decide on your budget then go for an 9800 Pro or 6800.

In that list, its a straight fight between the 9800 Pro and the 6800. The 9800 Pro is chaeaper, and probably better value for money, but the 6800 is faster, and more future proof with Shader Model 3.0, and all the rest I don't understand except it makes it faster! I'd go for whichever you can afford.

Of course, the new 6600GT may be a better option, especially considering that this new mid-range card is beating the previous generation's best (9800 Pro/XT) in the majority of tests, and only really struggling at high resolutions with high AA. It may be worth waiting a few weeks to see how the AGP cards fair, and to see what kind of prices you can get.
