    I've d/l the beta 4.9's and the gave me a massive 1fps increase. It did increase to 2 when i turned down the anisotropy to x1. This was on a 9800 pro...

    i think they have worked mainly on the x800 series cards for the the improvements made.

    so as to help em keep up with the 6800 series

    To be honest I wouldn't expect there to be much left in the way of driver improvements for the 9x00 series anyway (with the exception of OpenGL possibly) - It's already had its 18 months of driver tweaking, there can't be much left to boost!

    NO! Its Hanners...

    Well the 9x00 series has been out for quite some time, but hopfully they can work on openGl, however I'd like to see some improvments with there linux suport! perhaps they can still improve there drivers after all! They also seem to be updating there media center alot latly....

    i've always felt nvidia put more time into there graphics card options then ati because of the way it looked, nice menus etc... but with ATi new control centre tool i think ATi have managed to bring it neck and neck (i prefer ATi one, but thats because i have a ATi card )

    ATi control panel but im sure you've all already seen it

    I've just had one hell of a time with these drivers.

    Went from the omega 4.7's to these. I had to make two attempts at installing it (driver clean, install, driver clean again, install again) before they took properly. THEN, my primary monitor is set as my secondary one and even worse it doesn't run above 60hz. Try as I might I couldn't find the features with which to alter any settings.

    So, in the end I ditched the control center, leaving me with the 4.9 drivers and the control panel. That got my monitor working as it should, no fuss at all.

    However, IQ in Doom 3 with "performance" MIP maps etc... is AWFUL. Omega's always work for me no problem, but ATi originals seem to be nothing but trouble. I think I'll go back to omega's when a new version are released.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    Same here, its annoying to know that the only drivers I can use for my ati mobilty card is the official one let out by Dell, which is 1 year old and the Omegas. However, the omegas are great. Always seem to much better with oveall performance. Even on my desktop machine. May be some sort of placebo effect!
