    1.3v safe for 7870?

Hi all just wondering whether it would be a good idea to uo the voltage to 1.3v on my 7870 Tahiti LE. I'm aware overclocking varies but I take it 1.3v is usually fine in general?

Currently at 1130/1620 on stock voltage

    Thanks

    Whats the current voltage?

What software are you using to play with voltage?

Hi, currently using Sapphire Trixx as couldn't unlock the controls in MSI Afterburner. Ran a benchmark and the highest voltage reading was 1.211v but the average was around 1.175v although not sure how accurate this is as voltage is always changing unless I apply the "constant voltage" setting via Trixx

Although not really sure I like the Sapphire software as when I open it the VDDC is 1156 and when I click "reset" it goes to 1225 :s

Of course at idle the voltage is under 1v according to GPU-Z

1.3 sounds a little high then; I'm not entirely sure what is save but 1.2-1.3 seems a rather large jum. I would take it in little steps; 1.225V seems like a good starting place! people report 1.25 - 1.29V for thier cards (TPU reviews for example).

I think running trixx also kills off the power saving states while its in use iirc.

CCC has had good reports form a number of OCers for these cards at stock volt with 20% power boost.

Doesn't appear to for me, but I'm on the pitcairn 7870 and I've not tried overvolting.

Yeah CCC is what I previously used to get 1130/1620 but I want to squeeze a little more out if possible Will try increasing the voltage in small increments
