Re: HD7870 (Tahiti LE) on a 520w psu? Possible?

Have been having a few issues with my card since it arrived, at first i thought it was running excessively hot compared to others at idle but have since deduced that it's actually just how hot it runs in a dual monitor setup because it ramps the idle clocks up from 300mhz(core)/150mhz(memory) for a single screen to 501mhz/1500mhz for multiple. Therefore i want to look into controlling the clocks for dual screen in order to keep the temps down if i can. I've never had to look into setting up profiles to control clocks of a card before. Do any of you know of a link to a good source on how to do it effectively and make sure i'm not messing anything up.

Think i worked out how to do it in afterburner. Is it simply a case of creating a clock profile in afterburner for the clocks i want and in the profiles tab in settings, select that profile to apply for 2D?

In case you want more info, the whole deduction process is documented here from post 89 on HUKD

    Thanks guys.
