    Gtx 670 sli

Hey guys, I'm going to be putting another 670 in SLI with my current card. I've read that cards from different manufacturers are compatible. At the moment I believe I just have the standard EVGA 670, the one i'm looking at is the overclocked edition from MSI because it's on offer. I think they should be compatible but just wanted to post here for confirmation.

If you've got anything else you think I should know before installing it please let me know.

    Thanks.

Yes - they will be compatible. From past experience blower style cards work better in SLI in a small case. Is it the reference model?

That's the one I will be adding in, I'm not sure what a reference model is. I'll try and find a link for the card I currently have.

Reference card is one with a blower cooler. It's basically the stock cooler that nvidia use

Almost certainly then, I'm away from home so can't check at the moment. Case isn't what I'd call small either its a corsair carbide 500R. If they're compatible then I'll probably throw it in and do some temperature testing, if they're running too hot I'll add in a couple of extra fans.

You can always get some aftermarket coolers for them too - overclockers stock them. They're the 2 fan cooler by arctic and they cost about 30 quid

bear in mind that you'll run at the clock speed of the lower one, is the MSI one the TwinFrozr cooler? If so I'd be tempted to set them up so thats working in free air if your motherboard has only a 2 slot gap ( alot of high end ones have three, in which case don't worry about it

    Re: Gtx 670 sli

No it looks like just standard cooling, http://uk.msi.com/product/vga/N670GT.../?div=Overview

Motherboard only has 2 slots anyway, I'll check them temps and if they're too high the ill do as MrRockliffe suggests, currently sit at 76c no matter what game I'm playing with varying fan speed, never really above 40% though so I assume that's where it wants to sit.
