    770 & Samsung 840 250GB or a 780

I'm looking for two bits of advice really one is on if i did get a 770 should I get this
    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/2gb-s...mhz-cores-1536
    or this one
    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/2gb-p...dport-dvi-hdmi
also whether I should go for the 770 at all or go all out for a 780.

The second is If I did get a 770 I would also buy a Samsung 840 series SSD 250GB which I can pick up at my job for £108 totaling about £350, or I could just go all out and grab a 780 and put a hold on the storage (I wouldn't be able to get the SSD at that price) for a 780 I would be going basically the cheapest I can find, which at the moment is £383 link below
    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/3gb-p...mhz-cores-2304
Scan did have this GPU at £350 yesterday on a week pre-order but they've raised the price which I am gutted about link below
    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/3gb-z...s-2304-dport-d
Also if anyone can find any cheaper prices for 770s or 780s in the UK please say but Scan seem to be the only people taking the Nvidia price cut into their own prices.

    My other Specs;
    CPU: I5 4670k RAM: 12GB 1600MHZ Motherboard: MSI Z87-G45 GAMING PSU: Corsair TX-650 HDD: Hitachi 500GB 7200rpm Monitor: SHIMIAN 2560x1440 60HZ

    Other notes:
Will probably be upgrading the power supply at a later date.
Will probably be getting a new HDD at a later date.
May sell my Shimian to my brother and get a QNIX that should be able to overclock to at least 96HZ (same resolution).
Am very tempted to get a card with the reference cooler because it look SO COOL so if anyone finds a good price on one of those please let me know.

Edit: The £383 780 has also gone up but found a cheaper one at Dabs for £373 link below

What do you value more highly, load times or FPS? I know I prefer the latter. However, at this moment in time (unless you have to spend it now) I'd say you're better waiting a couple of weeks and seeing what 780Ti does to the market.

Definitely more interested in FPS I don't think the 780ti will affect prices being that Nvidia are quite stubborn, they only just cut their prices and the 780ti is so much more expensive than the normal 780.I would have definitely grabbed the Zotac 780 at £350 but now it has gone up I'm stuck.

    1080p - 770. 780 is overkill for 1080 unless you're using a 120Hz monitor

MORE than enough, the IW engine isn't exactly graphically demanding...

I assume that gtx 770 will be enough for all the coming games in future for at least 3 three years

Based on what? Go Back 3 years and the comparable card is a 470, which is woefully underpowered for brand new games now. As with everything, people should buy the best they can reasonably afford.

I assume GPU is just like cpu, the computing capability for CPU has almost hit the ceiling for home use, the moore's law has been broken.

GPU also has been used for computing or programming purpose, such as CUDA or Phi co-processor, so I guess little will be changed for a near future.

Is on order upon request so should take a while to get it if Scan drop their prices again will probably cancel and go with them.

    Re: 770 & Samsung 840 250GB or a 780

What about getting an AMD R9 290 and a cheaper SSD, like the one listed here:
    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/128gb...-400mb-s-facto

Okay, it's not 250GB, but the R9 290 is better than the 780 in a lot of upcoming AMD optimized games (BF4, Star Citizen, etc.)

780 still isn't overkill for all 1080p games yet unfortunately.

    Re: 770 & Samsung 840 250GB or a 780

I would suggest saving money on GPU and use it to buy an SSD
The overall gaming experience will be seen improving more this way
