Sugo SG01-F and Geforce GTX 760

Hi guys I just recently bought a new graphics card. This is the card I've bought: Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 2GB GDDR5 DirectCU II Mini Graphics Card (PCI Express 3.0, HDMI, DVI-I, DVI-D)

Unfortunately it doesn't fit into the sugo sg01-f case because of the sloped fan at the back. Currently I have a Geforce GTX 460 768mb card which at 11cm just sits nicely while the new card as you can see is 12cm all the way and doesn't fit the case because of the fan at the back. Unfortunately I can't post pictures otherwise I would and you would get a clearer idea what the problems is. For people unfamiliar with the case just google images for the case and you'll see what I mean.

So I'm wondering whether I should send the card back to amazon and get a refund. If so could anyone here recommend a decent graphics card that fits this case.

The other solution that I'm hoping might work would be to replace the fan at the back with a slimmer 80mm fan. First of all I've never done this and wondering whether anyone has with this case and if so please post recommendations of fans. Does anyone think this would work because this is the solution I would prefer.

I just took the fan out of mine. Seems to have made no difference to temperatures, so I never worried about it.
The airflow is generally good in sugo cases

Hi Agent, what kind of fan did you replace it with?

Its not temperatures I'm worried about, I'm trying to get a little more space to fit a bigger graphics card in.

I didn't - I've taken the entire metal bracket out, although I could just have removed that one fan from it.. There are a few screws holding it in - it's trivial to remove.

Well I suppose that's a possibility but I think for now I'll just try a slim 80mm fan and see if that works.

Let me know which one you try and if it works - I really should do the same myself

Re: Sugo SG01-F and Geforce GTX 760

    the issue is two fold

    FAT grahics card...and tight case.

Removing the one you're on about wont be the issue I doubt.

In an SG01 sometimes the fan on the card pushes up to an area with no holes in the removable lid..... .and it causes massive turbulence and thefore noise.

that mini card is short and fat... so if it SOUNDS loud suddenly... you know why. The fan's speeded up and it's stuggling.

If you're VERY good with a NEW drill bit... you COULD add some extra holes on that side...

you'd need to do it very neatly, planned and marked out in advance...

it's a Silverstone case and just hacking it apart wqould involve the style police killing you late at night

beware just cutting a big hole out. I did this in the side of a PC I had to fit a side fan. Reverberation on the side panel became a big issue, as did general noise increase from the fan. Make series of smaller holes, and use a centre-punch to indent the case prior to drilling or you'll come unstuck with skittery drill bits.

Re: Sugo SG01-F and Geforce GTX 760

Well I just replaced the fan and there is just enough room for the card to fit in. Overall everything seems to be working fine. The gtx 760 seems to be slightly more audible than the old gtx 460 I had but it's not too bad. The fan seems to be about the same noise level as before too.

Agent I used this fan: Evercool Slim 80mm Case Fan (15mm Depth)

I'll try and post some pictures when I have more time so that other people can get a better idea of the situation.

Re: Sugo SG01-F and Geforce GTX 760

Might have noticed a small problem but there seems to be times when I turn the computer on and the Evercool Slim 80mm Case Fan (15mm Depth) will spin and then stop just before it gets to Windows. It never ever spins after this. However when I turn the computer off and then back on again the fan spins as normal.

Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this and is it something to worry about?

Also how do you upload photos to your account.

Re: Sugo SG01-F and Geforce GTX 760

Well I don't know what the problem with the evercool slim 80mm case fan is but if the computer has been off for a long time then it definitely has a problem as described above. The fan spins then stops just before the OS loads and I have no idea what is causing it. If I give it a push it seems to spin as normal.

Anyway not sure I can trust it and I thought of another solution and that is to move the previous Silverstone case fan from the back of the bracket to the front of the bracket. I should have done that first time round since I think the air flow will be better that way.
