Driver switcharoo - moving to GTX750ti frm a Radeon 5750

So I've just ordered my GTX750ti. I havn't had anything other than a Radeon in my systems for years so a bit out of the loop on moving between one set of drivers and the other. Really don't want to be installing whole OS again so 'clean' isn't an option.

Presumably I'm meant to deinstall the Radeon stuff before installing the Nvidia (intend to use latest generic nvidia rather than the ones tha come with the card)

The slight fly in the ointment is that my processor is also AMD and a lot of settings seems to have become merged in the Catalyst control Centre.

I don't think there's anything that would cause the two driver sets to conflict. Just drop in the new 750 Ti, install drivers, maybe prune some AMD GPU-specific packages and don't worry about the catalyst control centre. Worse comes to the worst, you might have to uninstall catalyst and reinstall nVidia's drivers.

Uninstall drivers, then use something like driver fusion free trial to get rid of everything amd based - that way you're safe from any clashes, not that there should be any!

I switched from an ATI 4550 to a GTX 750ti last week. I powered off, changed the card, booted up, installed the Nvidia drivers. That's all. It's been working fine since.

I'll eventually uninstall the ATI drivers & check the old "hidden" device in Device Manager has gone.

I just uninstalled the drivers for my HD5850 1GB,installed my GTX660 and installed the latest Nvidia drivers.

I always uninstall the card in device manager, then power off the system swap the cards then power up and install the new drivers.
