    Upgrade from 5870

    Hi all

I hope all is well, its been almost 3 years since I last posted, just got really busy with my degree and some other stuff. I have graduated now though and am officially a doctor! But that means I have been so out of the computer hardware scene I no longer know whats what lol . So basically I want to upgrade my graphics card, in the mood to play mass effect 3 (and a few other games), plus my current card is failing so I need to upgrade regardless. Whats do you guys recommend? You can see my current build in my sig below.

    Thanks!!

What sort of Budget do you have for a new card

I would recommend R9 280X or NV GTX770 Look at some of the reviews for each of these cards to see if they meet your requirements..

    Hope that helps

    Re: Upgrade from 5870

    I upgraded from a HD5850 1GB which could overclock to HD5870 1GB level performance,to a GTX660.

Anything else,ie,like a GTX750TI or R7 260X which is slower is not worth it. Even a GTX660 can be pushed by newer games.

    I would aim for at least a R9 270 or a GTX660.

Does not seem too bad a price, but maybe ask the seller about things like warranty and the like too.

I'm in a similar position - also looking for a new gfx card around the £100 or less mark to replace a 6670 - but I cant see the classifieds. Do I need a given number of posts to view them?
