I got a 760 running 1080p which is fine, what gpu will I be looking at for 60+fps ultra all games 1440p and 2160p?
My guess is 970 should be fine for 1440p especially when oced and then possibly 2 970s for 4k?
I'd say go for a decent 970 non-reference
Even the G1 Gaming cost 300 only!
The g1 is just beefier mate, has better cooling and heat dissipation. I don't know any more specifics so i'm not gonna make things up but obviously it has higher clock speeds too.
Ok, nice one
I also read some ones mini review on scan and he said there is no back plate and the logo does not light up.
You can get some sweet deals from XFX on AMD R9 290 and 290X cards at the moment, and there is also the GTX 970 in that price range.
I would personally go for a GTX 970 because of the drastically reduced power consumtion and increased featureset that comes with Maxwell.
Perhaps the EVGA ACX 2.0 if you want the best warranty available, or the Gigabyte G1 Gaming for the best cooler, overclocking performance seems pretty great across the board on the 970s, 1500mhz core seems to be common which is very impressive to say the least.
The power consumption is not really an issue - I had a look at the TPU figures, and if you are gaming for 30 hours a week,52 weeks a year,it comes to around £15 to £20 a year at 18P a kWh and the AMD cards come with a bundle of games worth around £20 to £30.
There are also some deals on the GTX780 too,for around the same price as the R9 290 cards, and these consume a bit less power than the R9 290 cards too.
If I were the OP,I would be also considering a R9 290 or GTX780 at around £200 to £220.

I took the plunge and went for a 4GB EVGA GTX 970 FTW for the good support & warranty they offer which currently sits at 5 years (+ a free backplate).
A 780 would of been an option had it not been for the ridiculous power consumption so I'm quite happy with my decision and may look to add another 970 to my rig in the next 6 months.
What was I talking about in that other thread,LOL?!
Totally agree though. Valve was powering a Core i7 4770 and a Geforce Titan off a small form factor Silverstone 450W PSU. I know a few people on forums running R9 290 cards off 450W PSUs fine.
To put in context even an aftermarket R9 290X like the MSI R9 290X Lightning is still consuming less power than reference HD6970,GTX570 or GTX580 cards.
The GTX780 draws less power than a R9 290,so spending £70 to £100 more on the EVGA GTX970,really does not mean you are saving money in reduced power consumption for a very long time, and by then 20NM and 16NM cards will be out and the GTX970 will be obsolete in performance.
If there are specific features the newer cards have that the OP wants, fair enough, but the power consumption advantage is being slightly overblown IMHO.
Playing 30 hours of games each week for 52 weeks of the year would only save you £15 to £20 using a GTX970 over an R9 290 at 18P a kWh,and even less with a GTX780.
Edit!!
Nvidia TDP figures are off with the cards, especially when you look at the card power consumption, PCBs and coolers used on the GTX970 and GTX980.
The GTX970 is meant to be in the same TDP class as the GTX660 I own for example.
The GTX970 is more GTX670/GTX680 level power consumption in many reviews and is actually not massively behind a GTX780 in many.

What about going for a ~GTX 760. Goof bang for the buck
