Just wondering what the general consensus would be....
Should I buy another 770 and SLI, would it be worth the extra performance to justify the money or should I just stick with the 770 for now and upgrade in the future?
Thanks

Unless you are struggling with performance I would wait as long as possible. TBH,we have not seen any of the new AMD cards(the R9 290/R9 290X and R9 280X are getting on now) and Nvidia will be replacing the GTX780TI/Geforce Titan.
I expect it should be in the next 3 to 6 months this will happen.
But also remember the 28NM has been around for years now - I suspect we should also start to see the first 16NM/20NM GPUs next year too. There is a rumour AMD might release one around February and that Nvidia will bypass 20NM and move to 16NM.
TBF, everything is running smoothly at the moment, I was just a bit worried should my GPU start to struggle in the near future, just don't want to be caught out.
Thanks for your advice.
I tend to upgrade if:
1.)The card dies
2.)I am starting to lack performance in new games
3.)I get a good deal on a card
If I were you I would wait as long as possible.
What are the specs of your system??
CPU - 4760k i5
GPU - GTX 770
RAM - 8gb of Vengeance Pro
It's the first computer I've ever built just over 6 months ago, I've been really impressed so far, I spent some time looking at reviews and bought the best I could afford at the time.
PSU?
But TBH,its a solid spec and try to get at least a year or so use out of your graphics card!!
CS650M
Thanks Not too bad for a newbie then!
It's something I've always wanted to do, hadn't played PC games since the days of BF1942, was a bit of a step for me!
Cheers
I wouldn't recommend buying another for SLI at this point; especially if you've got a 2GB card.
You've got scaling to take into account - which will vary between games/applications - and the price:performance isn't anything remarkable at the moment either (unless you're getting one for cheap, I'd probably consider it for ~£150). You're looking at ~70% the poerformance of a GTX 970 for ~70% of the price (for the 2GB cards), with half the VRAM - which could be an impairment if you're looking to move up to higher resolutions in the future - and without support for features like MFAA and DSR. Each 770 is about 27% more power-hungry under load than a 970 as well, looking to the long-term.
That's compared to the ASUS GTX 970 STRIX, which seems to be slightly more power efficient than cards like the GIGABYTE G1 GAMING at the cost of slightly lower stock performance and OC headroom - although the differences are largely marginal.
My advice would be to sell when performance starts becoming an issue and look at upgrading to a 900 series card at that point; the price:performance is great for a new release (especially when you factor in the ability to OC up to 1500MHz on air & stock voltages, with temps @ ~70C) and it's not going to get any worse. It also gives you the opportunity to see how AMD respond if performance isn't an imminent concern and you're not tied in to any of NVIDIA's proprietary technologies.
Great advice, I'll keep all of that in mind
Well, the OP only has has their card six months - so I would also argue they should get some use out of it first. Say even if they upgrade in another six months,it will only be a 12 month lifespan for their card - mostly like 6 to 12 months later we will have the first of the 16NM/20NM cards out and so on.
I am on a GTX660 and I could use the extra performance I suspect in one or two games, but I am quite happy to wait six months,at which time the card will be around two years old. If I was on a GTX770,which is around 40% faster according to TPU,I would probably be happy for most of next year too.

Put up with it for a bit and wait to upgrade to the 9xx, lower power draw is such a big difference this time round it'd be silly not to (and all the other things which go along with this, temps, oc room, etc.)
