    dual monitors help

    hey, ive got my 2 monitors up and working fine, its just that im trying to do this.....like play a game on one monitor, and talk on msn for the other, but if i click on the convo in the other monitor it minimizes the game, well i heard i can use hotkeys to switch between quickly without it minimizing, and i cant seem to find it or anything........im using ATI catalyst 4.12, any help would be apreicated, thanks

    I haven't managed it - I just maximise again. It's because of how dual desktop works and technically when you go back to the other window you're leaving the game's 3D window for the 2D desktop (I think.)

    Maybe something like Ultramon (which I dont' actually use) could help.

    Ultra mon will do that although i haven't used it in a while as i had to leave the 2 monitors when i went to uni

    i gave it a go, seemed to solve somethings, like gave me a taskbar and stuff , change wallpaper etc...but im not sure which hotkeys to use, ive tried switch mouse to other monitor, and switch focused program to other monitor, but it still minimizes, so any other ideas? or what hotkeys do i use :S. thanks

    What games utlise a Dual setup, I know flightsims can use loads but other than that, whats the use?

    im not entirly sure what you mean, im trying to play games like NFSU2, vampire bloodlines, flatout, counter-strike source..etc, on one monitor, and talk to friends on msn on the other, i know it will slow the computer down some, but its not gona crap my computer down so much its impossible to talk..

    It isn't possible to play a game on one monitor and to interact with other applications on a second screen. You can only have one app/game in focus at any given time. You can have the other apps active, and you can see anything that happens ie. someone types you a message, but to respond you have to switch focus.

    Theo only way it's possible is to play the game in windowed mode.

    Yeah - they say XPSE will have much better multimonitor capabilities
