    EVGA GTX 980 Ti FTW

    Hi All,

Quick question about the GTX 980 Ti FTW - Does anyone know if this uses a reference type board? I was going to try and fit it in my Corsair Obsidian 250D, but noticed it has an 8+8 pin power.

Looking about online, anything larger than a reference board wouldn't fit in the 250D.

Later next year I was thinking of going water-cooling, and fitting my own block to it, so I'm assuming if the 980 Ti FTW isn't a reference card, I couldn't use a generic water block?

Sorry for having so many questions in my first post.

EVGA don't make it terribly obvious but if you visit their webpage for that card model and click the view spec sheet button about half way down then you end up on this page which gives you the dimensions.

Looking on the Corsair Website for the 250D it states the case will take 'Full length' graphics cards and goes on to clarify that it means 290mm:

Thanks! That spec sheet seems pretty handy. I was more worried about the height than the length though, because I know some non reference cards, and coolers poke up too high.

It looks fine at just over 11cm though.

Not sure about the water block though, although I'm sure by next year something will be released.

Yeah, looking again it should be ok. It's a reference shaped board, but with a custom circuit. So fitting into the case shouldn't be an issue.
Fitting the water block will be a pain, because EVGA moved the VRAM.
