What graphics card do you recomend? It'll be paired with a I7 4790k, and 16gb ram.

    Cheers.

It's ok. Silly question i know.
I decided to go for a GTX 950.
There shouldn't be any bottlenecks hopefully.

Seriously? 1024x768? I was playing games at that resolution 20 years ago!

    Re: Gaming @ 1024x768

It's a strange resolution though. Your 950 should be good for light gaming at 1080p, especially when coupled to your i7.

You can pick up 1080p monitors new for £70 - significantly less than you're about to drop on a GTX950. It'll make a much bigger difference to your gaming experience than you probably realise.

if you're not upgrading the monitor, I wouldn't bother with a GPU. Stick to the integrated on the i7, it'll handle 1024x768 with moderate detail levels easily enough.

If you aint got much money, why an i7 and 16GB of RAM? Seems an unbalanced system for gaming on when a 1080p monitor can be had for the price difference between an i5 and an i7.....

    Re: Gaming @ 1024x768

I was doing a slow build. Getting the best i could afford durring a time period. And haven't yet got around to buying a graphics card or monitor.
Off course if a win the lotto or was given alot of money then i'd get us a 980 TI and a 1080p or 2K monitor.
Anyway gaming at 1024 with a HD 4600 issn't too bad tbh.
    Cheers guys.

    Re: Gaming @ 1024x768

If you are playing at that resolution, get a CRT monitor. This is a serious suggestion. You will get far superior refresh rates (frame rates if your graphics card can handle it), black levels, and colours compared to the 4:3 LCD junk.

    Update.
I treated my self to a Asus 27" 1080 monitor. And wow the bloody size of it LOL.
Now all i need is a graphics card for it. Won't be till next year mind, but i was thinking of a GTX960ti (if their gonna be any good though.)

    Cheers guys.

Is there going to be a GTX 960ti GPU? Have you considered the R9 380? It's slightly cheaper and provides overall better performance than the GTX960. You should be able to run most modern games at max settings with both cards at 1080P So there's that option too just so you know

Sell 8gb of RAM and pick yourself a 1080p monitor?? They are floating around ~£70-£80 for a decent size!

If all you need is a gpu that does 1024x768 just use the iGPU of any sandybridge or later intel chip, or a A6/a8/a10 amd apu. No need for anyting else.
