Is it worth upgrading from dual-crossfired AMD 290 / 290Xs to one of their new cards with HBM? I plan on getting a 4K display this year!

Dude wait for a polaris GPUs the fieat iteration arent all that good I'm tempted to get this 8gb GPU for 180 pounds but when there's more efficient coming out in summer I'll wait
Wait until all the new cards are out, none of the current crop are really that fit for 4k.

Yeah, HBM2. No point in anything else, I expect.
Going from 2 cards in crossfire to one card? Can't see that being worthwhile, no. Look up some reviews, and if you can't find 290X crossfire look for the 295 X2 which is basically the same. The move to Fury X will be a grap[hics downgrade in general.
Now, if you're thinking of moving to two HBM cards (maybe two aircooled Fury's when the rumoured price cut kicks in), then it might be worthwhile. Then again, the performance and efficiency claims for Polaris would put my off buying a new card in the next 6 months anyway; particularly if I already had a high end set-up.
