Question Which one 1st ? AMD Card or AM4 Motherboard ?

What do you think would be best to buy 1st ? With £300 so far and with AMD looking promising i wondering if buying a new card would be a better option than getting a new motherboard and DDR4 memory or the other way round .
Yes i am willing to stick with AMD over Intel !
Here is my specs i have now :

    AMD FX-6300
    Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P
Kingston 240GB HyperX (Windows 10 installed)
    8gig HyperX Fury Black Series
    PowerColor HD 7950 PCS+ Edition
    Evga 750 B2

    Cheers

Wait and see what the results are before deciding I guess.

Re: Which one 1st ? AMD Card or AM4 Motherboard ?

Tricky one, your CPU and graphics card are both still reasonable.

If we can expect 390(X) performance from Polaris then you are looking at something like this: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1033?vs=1056

CPU may not be quite as good an upgrade in everyday terms, but personally I was considering getting an AM4 motherboard when they come out along with a cheap APU because I have a spare Windows 8 license I never used so for me wasting £40 on an APU is better than waiting for Zen to come out and having to pay £80 for an OEM Windows license because the free upgrade is over and I don't see me wanting 8 on a machine these days.

But unless you have a real life getting in the way stupidity like my spare Win 8 license, I would just wait and see.

Dont upgrade yet, wait till it released and have you overclocked your cpu and gpu yet

Your system seems quite well balanced - I would try overclocking that CPU a bit too. I would also suspect you are more GPU limited in many games too - a mate upgraded from a GTX650TI Boost 2GB to an R9 390 8GB with an overclocked FX6300 and saw a good improvement in games like ARK.

You can get that FX chip to 4.3 easily, pushing higher if you have good cooling.

GPU is fine also. Plenty life left in it.

If i was backed unto a corner, a new GPU would be the item for me with what you have.
