OP has only 15 posts, and we don't permit touting in open forum, only in the For Sale section.

Seriously, you know better than that, I thought. I'm sure there's every chance the OP is trustworthy and will become a valued member of the community, and at the point where they meet the requirement of 100 constructive, non-spammy posts, they can access the For Sale forum ans post a wanted. In the meantime, please try to stick the to forum rules?

Not saying it's not an option, but I don't think it's going to be that close to the 750 Ti, so you'd probably want to get a good deal on it.
Well spotted, for some reason I thought the 360 was fully enabled. That might explain why when my wife's 260X was sent off for RMA and I bought a 360 so she wasn't without a graphics card for a few weeks the heatsink on the 360 didn't look quite as good. She kept the 360 though, so she obviously can't tell the difference in performance between the two.

That also means my wife has the slowest graphics card in the house (now my daughter has the old 260X), that might cost me if she finds out

Oooh, bad mistake. I always make sure that my current computer's at least one notch down, so I can always say "well, it's faster than mine" if performance issues ever crop up

Pretty easy when I almost exclusively use my laptop nowadays, of course

Perhaps I need to let her find out tomorrow, then she can have my 380 and I can see if there are any new cards being released that might serve my purposes

Hmmm, I like your thinking ... I'm trying to persuade the step-son to invest in a 460 when it comes out ... then he'll have a spare GTX 750 he doesn't need anymore...

Just to throw my opinion in the ring, while the 750Ti is a cheap and still decent card, I would also agree with everyone that's said to wait it out until AMD release their new RX series cards, your price range looks right around the RX470/RX460.

The new RX460 looks like a very decent peace of kit and hopefully it will be at a decent price....waiting in anticipation.

    I would vote for a R9 280X mate.

    Re: Cheap card for dad

Wow! Lots of responses. Thanks folks.
Only an hour and a half until the big 480 reveal, so I'll see how that's shaping up, then hopefully the 460 will be on it's tail.
I've sent my dad a card and told him a 'present' will be on the way - should buy me some time!
