    Best DVD Playing S/W...?

I used to run CreativeDVD and a DXR3 decoder card for 5.1 surround and a good quality picture with my old rig, but with my new spec, things should move on..

Can anyone throw any light on this subject? What is a good player to compliment the hardware I have? I've heard of NVDVD, WinDVD and PowerDVD, but have used none of them, so I have no idea what the sound/picture quality is like..

Will they support 16:9 aspect, ie: scale up on a widescreen TFT and not leave letterbox bars top and bottom? The NVDVD is supposed to have specific support for 6800 series and Dolby Digital decoding, but just how good or bad is the decoding these days?

Help sort out this mess in my head please! TIA,

    S.
