    How good is this card?

If I ran one of these cards, would it play all of todays games at 1280x1024 at medium settings, and in future should I wish to upgrade to sli with another of the same card, would it play future games like UT2007 at the same resolution and quality level?

    Cheers

    Ash

Also, please rate the card on a scale of 1-10, for my own morbid curiosity.

1280x1024 with AA and AF as well? If u want IQ as well.. then probably MOST games will be fine.. some newer harder titles will struggle..

If you're not after AA and AF, then a 7600GT would be more than enough..
    Me want Ultrabook

I don't even know what AF or AA is, well I know AA is anti aliasing, but I don't know what it does! So I will most probably not have them on. But medium settings.

As long as I can play games and the pixels aren't enormous I'm happy .

Mmm all my bits are here you see, just getting the graphics card tomorrow .

^ yeh that card will be perfect then, it's a good card, better than the X1800 and suprisingly its near the 7900GT! About 10/20 frames less on some games!

the 7600 is superb. Definately the mid-range card of the moment.

Anti Aliasing: AA: the ability for a card to smooth out the jagged edges of a diagonal line drawn on a screen. It stops the line looking like a stair case. The higher the multiplier of AA you use, the smoother it looks. On low res screens (800x600 and 1024x768) it makes a good difference. As yuor resolution becomes higher it herlps less as the smoothness is inherent.

Anisotropic Filering: AF: the ability of a card to make a 3d shape that is leaning away from you, look smoother. So imagine a square in front of you, its sides are dead straight. Now lean it away....the top is further from you, so the sides are squiffy.....tro make the top edge smaller. AF does this smoother.

Using either or both slows your frame rate
