    Question GPU Temps

Ever since I got that weird pop the other day on my PC I have noticed a few raised capacitors on my motherboard and my graphics card running a bit on the warm side as is my hard disk.

When I boot up it is hitting the 60 - 64 Celcius mark. Once I start gaming however it is hitting around 84 celcius and the bars are hitting yellow in the drivers. It has been extremely hot the past few days round our way and I can see that will help up the box temperature in general.

Further to my inspection, once I installed the latest nvidia official driver the card is on average 8 degrees hotter than the last driver set. I have my exhaust running in the system now and it is helping out a little.

What is everyone else experience with gpu temperatures this time of year ? Last thing I need at the moment is my card going pop. On Tuesday I am buying a new mainboard and hopefully this will help a little with regards to the problem. Also can the drivers be causing such a huge jump on the temperature side of things ?

Card I am running is an XFX 6600GT AGP 128 Mb.

maybe the drivers could just be reporting the temps wrong, on my 6600 gt I changed the stock cooler for a Zalman VF700-Cu and it droped the temps on average 10 to 15 degs idle and load and it was quieter too.
