24-bit panels? i thought they were all 8-bit?

    http://www.macheaven.co.uk/?page=proddetail&prod=9388

just looking at the dabs brochure that they insist on sending to my house, i noticed this monitor - its much more expensive than other monitors of its size, but i notice two things upon which clarification would be great:

    1) how comes this says '24-bit MVA panel' and all ive been reading around on forums is 6-bit being crapper than 8-bit - dont normal pc tft's have 24-bit?
    2) how comes this says 'digital tft' - ive not noticed that anywhere before, just assumed that all tft's were digital if they had a dvi port.....am i wrong?

oh, and thirdly, is this worth spending extra on?

8 bit per colour is 24bit. so it might well be that..

'digital tft' is just a selling term..

Normal PC TFTs are only 6 bits per channel, or 18bit overall.

For 99.9% of people this isn't a problem, but annoyingly, it is for me.

Which not all that long ago was really cool. Certainly beat EGA or *shudders* CGA.

Wing Commander 2 looked absolutely gorgeous.
