GeForce 8800 GTX in Antec P180??

Has anyone fitted an GeForce 8800 GTX in Antec P180 (latest one with thinner PSU Fan) yet and was ther room OK or did it need any 'modding' or removal of lower drive cage??

Depends on what PSU you are using. You basically can't use one of the upper drive cage if your card is very long (I'm using a 7900GT in there). Unfortunately my Tagan got REALLY THICK PCIe power cable so I had to route through the hole for HDD otherwise it would SNAP my GFX card.

i dont have the 8800 atall as my p180 is the media pc so something that hot and hungry would annoy me

plus it would be in the way of my pump and 120.2 radiator for the watercooling system id imagine and thats with me chucking the top drive cage like azza!

A (well used and worn) Dremmel I have... never used it on a PC yet but bought it for another "build project" I undertook in 2000-2001 (google G-EWBC to find out what - and understand my ID name). I have found the Dremmel useful for all sorts of stuff since - the geabox is on its way out, so I will need a replacement somday soonish I guess.

It didn't power it it has a 2.2 litre aircooled engine to do that, but was used a lot to trim the epoxy moldings, window cutouts, the windows (acrylic) to final fitting size (frightening - the windscreen is £700, and soooooooo easy to break when cutting, drilling and installing).

    a fine album !

id love to do something like that, thing is space as i often get into one "project" then another idea pops up and nothing ever ends up finished, take the car in my sig been in the garage for almost 3 years as the engine work alone is looking to be the wrong side of 8 grand never mind the adjustable platforms and dampers 911 turbo brakes and numerous other expensive toys....

i was messing about with the case today tidying up the watercooling loop etc and the miles of wires ive bodged together for controlling the fans and pump etc and consolodated the drives to just the raptor and 750gb drive to cut down on the noise and heat in the case and let more air through to the psu, next thing is to get a slimmer fan for the psu section, annoys me how big the standard one is

I built a car when I was 19/20 - a Mini Jem Cooper 'S' based special - building a plane is a whole order or three different. My first too 9 years... but G-EWBC took only 2.

PC builds are all somewhat quicker!!!

Nice car... trick to finishing is to ensure that you do something, however small, every day....

I have an x1950xtx in mine and that fits fine now i've removed the top hard drive bay. There's plenty of room for hard disks in the bottom bay though so i wouldn't worry about it

im sure i read the x1950 card is quite a small card for its power, i might well be havering though!

for the size of the case i think its quite cramped but i have stuffed in all that watercooling

and that antec phantom 500 is rather annoying with the fact that they added a fan on the back of it which more or less touches the powersupply fan in the p180 and considering these 2 antec products were designed to acheive the same goal (silence ...almost) you wouldnt think it with the 2 of them fitted together!

You're kidding me right? It's huge! The x1950xtx is about the same size as the gefore 8800gts, the 8800gtx and the 7950gx2 are the only cards that are bigger... I think!
