Dell 2007WFP or Asus MW221U

Im finally biting the bullet and getting myself a new TFT next week and am looking at the Dell 2007WFP primarily, however the Asus MW221U has come across my path. At about £290, seems well worth the extra to me for those extra 2 inches and "ghost free technology" <what ever that is.

However I do like the extra input possibilities of the Dell plus the great reviews it receives.

Which of these two would you buy?

Thanks
Martin

Well. personally I would always go for the bigger panel - although not necessarliy that Asus one.

I was in the same dilemma as you a few months ago and finally decided on the 22" Samsung SM225BW LCD. It looked a bit nicer than the Asus and has much better adjustments on the stand. It can be found for £290 at CCL.

Most will correctly argue that the 20" lcds have the same resolution as the 22" screens, but over a smaller area, meaning smaller pixels and a sharper picture, while this is true, the difference is negligible when doing anything but serious photo editing and not worth the 2" loss in size by my mind.

If you want the extra connections that the Dell lcd has, then you'll need to spend a fair bit more to get them on a 22" model. I decided DVI-D and D-Sub were enough for me, the rest werent needed and i hate lcds with speakers in! (not that the dell has)

I am definately going with the Dell 2007WFP, purely cause its about the right size for me and the reviews speak for themselves I guess, Does anyone know if they are being shipped out with the S-IPS panels or the S-PVA panels at the moment? as I have read that the the S-IPS are much better???

i just bought a 22" fujitsu siemens screen for £255 including delivery, from pcworld via there website. will let you know how it handles later on, but the minimal looks are really nice - only a small amount of casing, nice discrete buttons at the bottom of the screen. looks really classy. and the refresh rates are good, its got the inputs you are after too.

I got myself a 22" Belinea from scan (£215 o_O) its a lovely screen no ghosting good quality 5ms response.

Only thing is its D-Sub thats it. But there is no difference. Oh and that extra 2" is worth the extra a 20" compared to a 19" is hardly an upgrade the other 2"s make it huge

Well the monitor has just arrived and I must say I'm impressed with it so far. I've only used it for a few hours and am still in awe at how wide it actually is. I had a sony trinitron 19" before.

I don't know if it is an S-IPS or an S-PVA. Is there any way to check that? It's a revision A03.

I didn't know anything about this S-IPS and S-PVA business. But I digged up a bit after your question and I found this message on some photography forum.

It seems S-IPS or S-PVA is a big deal for some people. Anyway I followed that guy's instructions and checked the hidden menu on my monitor. It seems I have a panel code RT803. So I got an S-IPS panel! Yay, go me!
