    NEED HELP!!! Geforce FX Card

If I was to get a new graphics card, i have spotted a Geforce FX 5600 that is 128mb and 256mb. The 256mb one is £20 more expensive, but wil the memory be slower than the 128 card? The shop assistant (this is a professional computer store) insisted the memory and performance will be quicker. However i have heard cases that SOME 256mb GF 5600's are slower, but some have 400mhz memory clock x 2. Any suggestions ppl? I cant remember the brand name of the card, but i would recognise the box a mile away... i have placed a deposit on this card, but don't know the memory clock speed.. i persume it is quicker, any advice?
Does anyone actually have a 256mb GF FX 5600?
I have noticed the ABit card has been reviewed here is outperformed by its sibling, but do different card manufacturers use different amounts of memory? Should i get the 256mb or 128mb card? As i said. £20 difference makes me think the 256mb card is better.

I need a speedy reply ppl as i have a deposit on the 256 card, which can either be taken or removed by tomorrow.

I'd take the 128meg card and go for a few beers......

By the time something needs 256meg the card will be useless (lets face it, its not exactly fast now).

thanks for the info, but i want to know the clock speed of the 256, as it would be a handy card for just £20 more and would provide much better quality on higher end games.

It'll be the same... and it wont make any difference in the quality or performance in games.

I've only ever felt I needed 256Mb a few times when running older games at HIGH resolutions and not been able to fit it all in RAM!

No offence, but don't waste your money on a 5600.
You just have to be a regular reader of the news on here to know why.

Unless it is £20 or something.
