driver_irql_not_less_or_equal, do a google searchfor this as there are many things that cause this but I would have a look at the ram to see if it is seated properly and video card.

As you have a heat problem and the hs fan is not spinning then a replacement fan would be in order, jeez mate you sure having probs

That error usually points to memory errors if the Windows install hasn't even completed. That said if you're cpu is running at 70 then you're looking at either a failed CPU fan, or a failing motherboard in my eyes. One will be much cheaper to replace than the other so I would suggest that you grab a new HSF. if that doesn't solve your issue... probably looking at a replacement motherboard.

Could be that the CPU fan socket is duffed though... I'm assuming it's the CPU fan rather than any other that's not spinning?

Can I just get my head round this one, the computer you have got now cost £60 and you have been quoted £400 to repair it, something doesnt quiet add up here and if this is the case, please tell me if I am wrong, I would bin your problem computer sharpish and buy a new base unit with a far better spec for far less, just makes sense to me?

    Hope I am wrong

no the pc cost like £1300 when i bought it but i got quoted £400 for a guy to fix it. by doing it myelf it cost £60 total but more things are going wrong:

    1. error on OS load up - driver_irql_not_less_or_equal
    2. Fan not going.

    1. could this be because of the fan problem?
    2. im going to buy one to see what happens

    Thanks for the explanation

As to your to faults I would say yes that fitting a fan that works would solve your other prob as it does appear to be a heat problem provided that the fan itself is faulty and is obviously the cheapest option.

Let us know if this solves your problem.

    Hi,

Could you post the full component specifications you are using. I am particularly interested in the hard disk configuration - are you using RAID? If so, where did you source the RAID drivers?

If the motherboard is a gigabyte S3/DS3/DS4/DQ6 then the fan not spinning is no problem - it just means the PWM fan control circuit hasn't got up to a high enough temperature to bring it in.

Also - if it is a Gigabyte motherboard - which colour SATA sockets are you using for the boot partition hard drive(s)?

    More information=faster, more focussed assistance.
