    Philips Freeline X20L

    Hi

Been landed with this Philips Freeline X20L laptop, managed to source drivers etc, which was no mean feat, anyway, the sound driver that is from some semi supported philips site, is realtek AC97,installs ok, but no sound out of speakers.

Is anybody running/ran the same laptop, if so what sound driver were you using and what was your sound config for using the onboard speakers

    Thanks

    Re: Philips Freeline X20L

    Hi

Yes the driver worked ok, it was the speakers on the laptop itself, just checked the drivers I downloaded, I have radeon omega drivers 3.8.330 and some others, I am not sure if the omega worked, can't recall. The site that I got most of them from was thetech guys, they must do the support for the laptop

just been to that site and seems to be no drivers, only a terms about dixon group etc

    Re: Philips Freeline X20L

    thanks for the quick response

ive allready found the tech guys ive been on the page below but there's no way of starting the download??? no button or automatic start etc

edit - cant post urls, but if you go on the site i cant get it to work

And talking of speakers not working, i took the whole laptop to pieces to rebuild it and realised ive left the speakers out, damn.

ive got the same thing with the dixons site, and i cant seem to find a way of finding a driver for the sound card at all, and there no sound what so ever, i get and error message when i try to get on the volume control.

So if you have details of the specific drivers id really appreciate that.

    Thanks

    0xC00D11BA: Cannot play the file
Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device, such as a sound card or sound controller. You may encounter this error message for one of the following reasons:

Your sound device is in use by another program. Quit other programs that may be using your sound device, and then try to play the file again.
Your sound device is not functioning properly. To troubleshoot the problem, see the Sound Troubleshooter in Windows Help or refer to your sound device's documentation.
You do not have a sound device installed on your computer. Install a sound device, and then try to play the file again.

Used windows media, winamp, and he media player that comes with the sound driver. I think its a driver problem. Ive got a legacy audio driver on aswell, ill have a go at deleting that tonight.
