    Duron 1300 vs Athlon 1000

Simple question. In terms of raw processing power what is faster the Duron 1300 or the Athlon 1000. I want to use both but for different purposes and need to know which has the best overall performance.

At the same speeds the Athlon would be the better chip as it has more L2 cache (256k vs 64k) however the extra 300Mhz on the Duron would give you the edge. A lot of the Athlon 1Gb Athlons (Thunderbirds) would overclock to 1400Mhz+ though temps would run high because of the ceramic surround. But again if you're overclocking the Duron the same amount you will still be better off as you should get higher than 1400.
