Ok, I decided to build a new system, and bought almost all new components (I couldn’t afford an all new system without dropping some down). Anyway, one of the components I decided to transfer over was the PSU, as I had only had it 1 year. I thought this would be ok, but after some research I am now not so sure.
The system I am building will be -
Motherboard – MSI K9A Platinum
CPU – Athlon X2 6000+
Memory – 2GB (4x512MB) OCZ Platinum 800mhz
GPU – Sapphire X1950XT 256mb PCIe
Hard Drives – 1x WD 80GB Sata2, 1x WD 160GB Sata2
DVD Drive – Pioneer 112D
Heat sink – Zalman CNPS9500
Case Fans – 4x 120mm Antec Tricool
Case – Antec P182
And the PSU I expect to power all this – Enermax EG565AX-VE (W) (24P)
The table on the side of the PSU looks like this
DC........./+3.3V/+5V/+12V1/+12V2/-12V/+5VSb/+12V Total/Total Power/
Output.../32A.../32A/18A.../18A..../0.8A/2.5A.../34A........../535W......../
The main thing that bothers me is that it only has 18a on each 12v rail, now, I know nothing about power supplies but on the Sapphire website (relating to the x1950xt) the recommended specs say 30a (assumes fully loaded system) but on the forum they recommend 20a on each 12v rail (they suggested that to someone else, not me).
So, do you think mine will be good enough?
p.s. I used this site http://www.extreme.outervision.com/p...ulatorlite.jsp and it suggested 507W on 100% system load.
