well iplug it in and it comes up in remove hardware but not in my computer so i cannot access it! any ideas???
your USB memory stick isn't showing as a drive? Is this at home or work? A lot of corporate environments will have the USB mass storage driver crippled to prevent data theft. What OS are you using? Does it show up in the Disk Management console if you right click My Computer>manage? Do you have data on there or is it blank?
When you say it shows up in manage, does it have a drive letter?
Does that letter match an existing drive/mapped network drive?
If so just change it to something else that isnt used and it should appear fine
I had a similar problem with an IDE->usb converter, i can't quite remember how i fixed it >.<
IIRC i used an XP power tool called Tweak UI (made my Microsoft)
in tweak UI -> my computer/Drives you can enable and disable which drives show up in "My computer"
It turned out windows wouldn't show my partitions because they were not NTFS/FAT32 :\
Sorry, can't be 100% sure this will work for you, but it might be worth a try.
Can you right click and assign a drive letter? what filesystem is it?
so when you assigned adrive letter through the disk management console it was still unavailable through My Computer? I don't suppose your USBSTOR.sys driver could be borked could it?
