    1.3 HDMI and 100Hz technology

Hello every one. I dont know if this is the right forum section to post this topic but anyway i will go ahead hoping to get some suggestions from you guys. I was suppose to buy a HDTV LCD in the 40-42 inches range, but i was not aware of some new techs that have been evolving in the HDTV world.
    1) Is 1.3 HDMI any good? I do have a PS3 which uses this feature
    2) If i was to buy an LCD today, should i give more preference to the 100Hz or must i buy the one with 1.3 HDMI?

As far as i know, the 100HZ is really really good for gaming because there is no ghosting and the 1.3HDMI sends digital uncompressed sound and may be improves colours.

You guys help me out as to what should i do?

Doesnt it depend on what you are goin to use it for? Will the HDMI 1.3 improvements only be apparent if you have all other 1.3 equipment, but 100Hz will just help any signal put throught the tv.

I'm not saying you're wrong - I am in the same situation myself - but would just like a bit more info on it all.

See here for the different features of the various versions of HDMI:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hdmi

From what i can tell, the main advantages of 1.3 are the lossless surround audio formats it supports. The colour depth has also been increased, although this is only an option and isn't manditory for being 1.3 compliant.

I can't see anything other than the very high end screens having 30, 36 and 48bit colour. And the screen isn't going to support the lossless surround, that is up to a HDMI AV Amp.

As for 100Hz, I didn't think it applied to LCDs like it did to CRT.
