    NAS DFS Support

    Hi

Can anybody help me with some information on NAS Devices. Can anybody give me any info on DFS Support without the use of a server and just NAS Devices. I'm looking at multiple Buffalo TeraStation 2 Pro's on different sites and trying to find out about linking them, but i cant find any info.

    Thanks
    Martin

what sort of frequency would this data be updated ?

you may be off with something that has build in NAS to NAS replication

The Thecus units will do it , but I'm not sure if its a continuous replication cycle.

It's going to be used daily, but to be honest i'm new to the NAS Devices etc so not sure about everything. Just been looking into them to replace old Novell Servers at different sites, and was looking into ways of sharing the info between them

I dont think a NAS device will really replace Novell - Novel provides much more than just hosting a file share.

I'd also personally stay away from the terastations , we bought a few to use at work for data migrations and they where very very slow.

We use EMC Celerra NS502 / NS501s to replicate 6TB between two of our sites.

Although we had initial problems with setup, the devices have worked flawlessly since then.
