Save yourself a tenner and do it yourself, just do it outside of Windows.

You may be able to salvage a little part of your investment by offering the duffed board on eBay or similar - some people don't mind taking the risk and can happily replace a dead BIOS chip.

On this board I flash the BIOS in the BIOS using AZ Flash, I think it's ALT + F2 on first screen.

Oh and by the way I've used Window Flash programs before and I've never had any trouble.

That's as may be, however in this case it seems that the Windows flash tool may have at least partly caused the issue. (or rather the flashing of the BIOS from within an OS that may have had other services running.)

It's widely regarded as safer to flash from the tool available on bootup - you see much less reports of b0rked BIOSes that were flashed from a bootdisk or similar than you do of those that died while flashing within the OS.

Quick Update, I emailed ASUS and with the email they sent me SCAN are doing a RMA for me. It seems ASUS RMA if a faulty BIOS upgrade happens.

Nice one! You did well to get a reponse so soon - Asus' support is famously poor these days (and trying to navigate their website? let's not go there...)

Glad it got sorted, but I trust you'll be using the bootup BIOS flash from now on?

I might not bother at all. Wouldn't want to risk it

Yep, they are, so no hot swapping.

    Cheers,

Thats just plain silly, Ive saved a couple of boards hot swapping or getting a replacement bios chips. They must be very confident in their Asus CrashFree bios backup, Im not.
