    Question E550?

    I was going to go with this set-up for my computer;

    Asus P5k-e wifi-ap
    Antec neo he 430w
    2gb platinum OCZ rev 2
    320Gb Hitachi deskstar
    Antec nine hundred
    Microsoft Vista Home Premium OEM
    Keyboard and Mouse (cheap)
    Arctic Cooler Freezer 7
    Nvidia BFG 8800GTS 320mb
    DRW lightscribe dvd-rom burner
    DVD-ROM
    Intel E6420

    Total £780

    Then i saw that the E6550 was about £10 cheaper and also seemed to be better in most ways. I would be very grateful if someone could suggest a reason, not as good an overclocker, if this is the case could you also suggest a replacement CPU core 2 duo for the similar price.
    Thanks

    Re: E550?

    E6550 only has a 7x multi whereas the E6420 has x8 & I would be extremely surprised if the 6420 didn't do 333fsb too which would put you instantly at 2.66GHz by comparison.
