There's at least a dozen reasons what could be wrong, my advice is on Monday morning either a) call tech support for whomever sold you the PC or b) (if self built) give a far more detailed report on your system, exactly what noise it's making, what it's doing now etc.

That's still not a lot to go on! At a guess, a blown capacitor somewhere inside your unit? To be honest you need to give information like what LED's are lit, does your monitor show anything, can you get your case fans to spin up? There's loads of questions that need answering before anyone online can get a clear picture.

To be honest, you're better off calling Dell, they've got 24 hour tech support online and it'd be a lot more straightforward than running you through the process via posts 8+ hours apart

Eh I don't like Dell support to much. The computer starts up the fans turn on but then the buzzing sound starts from the mother board. The screen is on but nothing shows on it and the button shows it as the computer isnt on.

Unless you are willing to take the case off to get at the inside, you ain't gonna get anywhere, you can solve problems with software on the outside but for most hardware...............................................

Is the machine in warranty? If so you _need_ to contact Dell, whether you like it or not.
