"CRITICAL: Current disk space consumption has reached a critical limit."

    I'm confused.

I've got literally over 50 of these messages in the past couple of days. Quoted exactly (with headers)

SUBJECT :- CRITICAL: Current disk space consumption has reached a critical limit.

MESSAGE :- Your current disk space consumption has reached a critical limit. To allow users to operate beyond this can cause MySQL database corruption. Your MySQL access has been revoked. Please clean up your disk space or buy additional disk quota.

SIGNATURE:- *** This message is automatically generated by the mail system. ***
the gmail address is my proper gmail account. viditing.co.uk is a URL that I asked a guy I know (the guy on the whois details) to register a couple of years ago.

The details in the email are exactly as above. No information as to how to sort this 'problem' out - xssl.net just takes you to a holding page.

    Any ideas?

Log onto the the control panel for the site and delete some stuff would be the rather obvious answer...

Try gyron.net, as they might be the hosting company behind everything (though it's hard to be certain with all the redirects in place around the various names).

Cheers for your reply Lucio, but...

Log onto what site though? That's the problem, it doesn't tell me which site or how to resolve it. I've checked with all the sites and domains I own, and this has nothing to do with any of them.

Viditing.co.uk is a redirect address - there's nothing stored on it, and it's not owned or controlled by me anyway. I'll do some more digging around. Where did you get gyron.net from BTW?

gyron.net is the WHOIS result for the IP address in the header. It seems to be the only one actually connected to a hosting company and so I figured might be able to get you in contact with the reseller who did your domain name.

    Gotcha. Thanks!

I've emailed the guy that actually bought the domain anyway to ask him what it's about. It's a bit confusing because my name and contact details have never been on record for that domain name, so I'm not sure why I'm getting them. I can understand the email getting through to the viditing.co.uk address if the email redirecting was set to catch all usernames and forward them to my actual gmail address, but (unless I'm misunderstanding email protocols) that doesn't explain why my actual gmail account was directly referenced.

The main things puzzling me are:

    - Why is there a problem with lack of space on something that's just a re-direct and not actually a hosting package?
    - If there is an issue with the server, then there should be more information in the warning email as to how exactly to correct the problem?
    - Surely the warning information should surely be sent to the owner or admin of the domain, and not a person who happens to have their email address registered just as a redirect?

Aaaanyway, up to 55 of them now. I seem to be getting them on an average of 1 per hour

    http://viper.xssl.net/

Do you have any logon details for that?? BAsically you're getting the warning messages because it'll be an associated hostname for the same account and thus ALL the accounts are getting the message.

Many reselling packages these days will let you associate as many domain names with them as you want. If and when something goes wrong, it'll communicate with all the domain name e-mail addresses for the "admin". In this case your friend must have registered the domain name contact details for you instead of for him.
