What DVD drive is it? Make and model?
Have you tried opening it by right-clicking on the drive in My Computer and selecting Eject. I was amazed when I first found out you could do this
If the drive's onboard controller becomes really confused you may need to force a reset by turning the whole machine off for a minute and rebooting.
umm, it should have one, if not perhaps you will need to take the faceplate off. do not try to force it, it locks in place and will destroy the drive....
it could be a snapped drive pulley elastic band... in which case you will have to disassemble the entire drive to replace it
There should be a little hole; a [straightened] paper clip poked in to it is a sort of 'emergency' method.
As for My Computer-Eject, yes it works, but I almost forgot to open the door on the case! Bit careless, but I blame the beer.

I can't say I've ever seen a drive sans hole. But if you're sure there isn't one then I'd take the drive out of my PC and find a screwdriver.
Thanks Guys,
I found the hole after I took the thing apart. As far as the eject on my computer it doesn't work(locks the computer up). I did see that the drive does not show a loc in the prop screen? I belive that the drive is shot. But if you have anymore ideas please help me out before I buy a new one. I will check the band in it to. Once again thanks for the help. Lwazugo98 P.S I belive it's a pioneer DVD-117r
