Hey everyone, just built a new pc, last part arrived today, but whenever i build a pc, something always seems to be wrong with it (but never when i build a pc for someone else)
Motherboard: Foxconn NF570SM2AA 8EKR...etc (brand new from an ebayer who bought too many)
CPU: AMD Athlon64 X2 4200+ Energy Efficient 65watt (brand new from ebuyer)
RAM: Kingston ValueRAM ddr2-667 2x1gb Cas5 (brand new from ebuyer)
GPU: Inno3D GeForce 8600GT (just arrived today from ebuyer)
PSU: Antec NeoPower 480watt (took out of a working pc)
HDD: Seagate S-ata150 250gb Seagate factory refurb
I was using a TNT2 to no avail to get it working so i ordered my graphics card and it finally arrived with the same problems.
The motherboard seems to have all the front panel connectors rotated 180degrees to what it says in the manual, not sure if that also applies to the CMOS clear jumpers but anyway.. first time boot it'll come up with the foxconn splash screen and ask me what i want to do (keyboard doesn't seem to work.. so i turn it off and plug a new one in.. both PS/2 and working) second time i try the monitor just stays on standby and keeps like that. I've tried with a single stick of memory.. 2 graphics cards... (1 pci 1 PCI-e) and the PCI-e in both PCI-e slots and the monitor in both DVI slots (i think the yellow 1 is HD enabled maybe? would explain the dif colour) I only put one of these cards in a friend's pc on saturday Can't think of the problem.. it's definitely not voltage as the motherboard is 1.8vdimm and so is the RAM... I've tried the memory in both DIMM1 and DIMM3... any suggestions or should i just return it? I'll ask my friend to test the ram and gpu but i have no way of testing the board and cpu (all my friends are on LGA775 or s754..)
PROBLEM SOLVED: both ram sticks came DOA, it's now alive running on a single stick of corsair ddr2-800 1gb i borrowed off a friend
