    Need help regarding mother board

    Hi mates i am using asusn M2N-E with AMd 3800 X2 Processor they were working fine.I Moved with my pc and reassembled it.Now when i turn on my pc firstly all the bios get back to default date of january 2007 and it gives me msg of usb overcurrent .I manage to get it to desktop by selecting not to halt on errors in bios.But the real problem is when ever i shutdown my pc the bios get back to maufucaturing date and all the changes in bios get back to default.I changed 4 battery cells and still the problem persists.The board and processors they are just 4 months old.I updated bios aswell but all in vain
    Any help will be highly appreciated.

    sounds like a short on the board. Make sure you have no screws or feet under it making contact.

    Hi scsaus, welcome to Hexus

    I agree with jay's post above, it certainly sounds like a short.

    Did you pack the tower in a box when you were moving it by any chance ? A box with other stuff in perhaps ?

    I would also check each of the USB sockets to make sure nothing metallic has become lodged in one of them causing the pins to short out... plugging a regular USB plug in and out of each socket and checking it goes in all the way without resistance should suffice...

    Do you have any USB Devices connected ? It might also be worth removing all of them and seeing if you get the same 'over current' error on boot.

    Once you get to the desktop, go round each USB socket and plug something in and see if windows recognises it ok, if so, remove it and try another socket, etc...

    Thanks mates Jay and sema for your prompt replies.I was suspecting same fing shortage problem i disassembled the board there was a plate underneath the board contacting with the Casing i made a gap in b/w and shortage problem vanished and bios is working superb .
