Need some advice about my HDD.

    Hey guys.

I'm building a new computer soon and I was planning on using my current HDD.

    My current HDD is Seagate ST3160021A Barracuda 7200.7 160Gb IDE 7200 UDMA 100 2Mb - OEM |Specialtech.co.uk -

The buffer size on it is only 2MB, my new PC will be a core2duo and I don't know/understand if it will effect gaming performance.

Can you give me some advice please as I was thinking of doing a cheap HDD upgrade to - Seagate ST3160815AS 160GB Hard Drive 7200RPM SATAII/300 8MB Cache - OEM - Ebuyer - That has a 8MB Buffer size.

I would prefer to not buy a new HDD but if it's got to be done it's got to be done.

    Any information/advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks

In terms of affecting gaming performance, as far as I understand, it wont make a badgers behind of a difference and you should just stick with what you have

The difference between those 2 drives really isn't worth the hassle. I would just stick with what you've got.
