Need a tad bit of help with This System :)

I currently have the following system for gaming:

    - Asus LN164-SLI Mobo
    - AMD FX-74 CPU's X 2 (Both Water Cooled)
    - 4GB of Corsair PC6400 Heatsinked Memory
    - XFX 8800 GTX 768MB GPU's X 2 in SLI Mode
    - SB X-Fi Extreme Gamer
    - WD Raptor 10K 150 x 2 in RAID 0 for Vista 64 and Gaming (FSX)
    - 1 TB of RAID 0 for Other
    - Thermaltake Armour Case - Modded to fit two Eliminator Water Coolers
    - Two Lite-On DVD+DL Burners
    - Hyundai 24" LCD 1920 x 1200 x 32 - In game res and desktop res
    - Saitek X-52 Pro FCS

Now, I am not playing anything but Flight Simulator X now and would like some suggestions on what and how far to push my system...as far as overclocking both of the FX-74 CPU's. At default they each run at 3.0GHz and the ASUS board allows for overclocking of EVERYTHING.

My temperature for both CPU's are hovering around 42c with liquid cooling for each. The Vcore's are around 1.47VDC each.

    Nice PC!

Surely it doesn't actually struggle with anything?

If it were my pc I would only push the CPU's until they run around 60 degree's fully loaded. How to get there.. I have no idea. I believe the FX have an unlocked multiplier..might be wrong though. If they do I would just overclock on the multiplier because i'm lazy lol

if your not feeling your pc is getting slow (from those specs, that pc will eat anything you throw at it ) then id suggest just leaving it, that really is one 'kik ass system'!

what kind of frames you getting on fsx?

Nice system, with water cooling you should be able to push the CPU up quite abit... I doubt it's needed however i expect it is highly possible that the CPU's will overclock reasonably.

    Hi

Thank you for all the information and comments. In regards to Flight Sim X, I get between 40-70 FPS depending on scenery and terrain. I run the program in 1920x1200x32 with DX 10 support enabled and have modified my FSX.cfg file bigtime to achieve the best I can. It still stutters a bit, but I cannot expect it to be perfect at this time. I am running Acceleration as well...which provides the DX 10 support. SP2 is included with Acceleration, so I didnt bother to install that.

I don't think any PC in the world can play that game maxed with out stutter.
