Ah - I don't believe that Windows natively supports burning of images. If you don't have Nero or something similar may I suggest CDBurnerXP? It's free and definitely supports burning ISO files.

i have just recovered from a very simlilar problem, although i have ati graphics..
mine paused on that mup thing for hours, tried boot cd's, swapping hard drives to a different copy of windows (still paused at mup.sys), unplugging power from wall, then i thought about it a bit and had a sudden memory flash, i had just installed catalyst which requires something to run on the next bootup, but i had done some defragging and such before restarting, so this might have knackered it a bit, my wierd thought was that something might be bouncing around in the ram ready for boot up and therefore stalling the computer. So i unplugged both ram sticks, swaped them round and voila worked next time, 50 restarts later, no probs...
might not work on yours, but the simplest things work sometimes.
and i know that unplugging the power would clear the ram, due to the nature of how ram works, but my computer is a little wierd and these things seem to help it along now and again, the mobo battery might power the ram who knows?.
can the linux live cd be run of a memory stick ? wasnt able to get any blank CDS
steve didnt work thanks for the contribution any how .

Ah, just responded to your PM...
Essentially it's saying that your monitor isn't capable of displaying the feed that is being sent to it, or similar.
Is your monitor using a D-SUB or DVI type connector?
no it dosent ask me for my resaloution, uhm DVI. yh my mointer is in "my systen" its a sony,
could this be a Graphics failure ?
yh i posted in both so if any one is following this or has same problem they can see how to do it
Forest
Hmm - is your video card a dual head card? If so can you try the other output?
nope single.... i guess i should try another graphics and see what happens and then another mointer and see what happens ?right?
problems seem to attact to me every time
Forest
Did you change anything on your PC before this happened? I'm seriously starting to think that your graphics card may be throwing a wobbler (if you can't get a display even on a bootcd)
lol nope not really i did disable vga mode, but i restarted bios after so it should fo gone back to enable, only thing i can think off, i got a spare Graphics its nt as gd but it will do as a test, i post results in a min.

When you get to the Knoppix boot screen, there are a number of options you can enter - including setting the monitor specs. You will need to look at the options and monitor specs to set those. However the fact that you are aseeing something would indicate that your graphics card is working correctly.
The aim of this exercise is to recover your data before you get down to fixing the Windows problem (which may well be a re-install). You may need to go back to the Knoppix web site to get full details of the options you need.
Cheat Codes - Knoppix Documentation Wiki
For example - at the boot prompt try entering
knoppix screen=800x600
which will give you low res (if that works try screen-1024x768) - remember we are only doing this to get your data backed up.

there should be a pause during the boot process where you normally just ppress return. Enter the commands I mentioned in the previous post to set the screen resolution.
