    8pin PSU Connector

I decided to put together a new system over the weekend but discovered the MB I ordered (MSI P35 Neo2-FR) requires a 8pin power connector. Unfortunately, the PSU I ordered doesn't have 1. The M/B manual doesn't mention whether I can get away with using the 4pin connector in it.

Does anyone know for sure if its safe to use the 4pin connector?

    Re: 8pin PSU Connector

most have a cap covering 4 pins to allow this, if yours didnt i would have a sniff round there support site or even email them to see what side it needs plugging into.

    Re: 8pin PSU Connector

There was no cap covering, however, it can only go in to 1 side.. + the latch on the 8pin connector seems to be offset rather than centered, which seems to be intended to allow 4 or 8pin connectors.
