AVG halting on System Vol Info???

Haven't had this problem before, despite running AVG on multiple systems

suddenly, on main system, gets to the point of scanning Sys Vol Info folder, at which point it stops functioning. Presumably it doesn't have proper access, so it hangs.
Don't *think* I've changed anything on that system

any ideas?

Having to use Task Manager to end task on AVG, every day.

Win XP Pro. SP2.

try doing a boot-up scan if you know what i mean, i can do it on avast so i am not sure if you can do it with avg. so it will scan everything before everything starts up so access worries and so the virus/trojan wont be able to stop avg from accessing/scanning it

Try Uninstalling AVG reboot and then re-install AVG.

My daughter had a similar problem on her Laptop and the above seemed to work.
