    Question Vista 64 install madness

Hi, I've built my new machine and all was working - all that was left was to install Vista 64. That went wrong and I've been battling it for hours with no success.

    Asus P5Q3 mobo
Velociraptor and Samsung F1, Asus DVD player - all SATA
    Windows Vista 64
    Corsair 2x2GB DDR3 RAM

Everything seems to be working from a mecanical point of view. When I try to install Vista, the first time it just hung at the "please wait" screen. It now hangs at various points. The furthest I got was to input the Licence number and select the Velociraptor drive. Then it copies the files and starts expanding them but sticks here.

I suspect it may be a driver problem but I'm not sure where to start with that. Any advice would be lovely.
    Cheers.

erm..... just a thought, try slipstreaming service pack 1 into your vista boot disc with nLite

que? Sorry, not that knowledgable in this area so I didn't understand a word of that. I'll look up nLite and see what I can do with it - thanks for the pointer.

Try it with one memory stick in the motherboard.

    Re: Vista 64 install madness

Thanks for the reply. Do you mean copy the drivers onto a memory stick and use that or just put a stick in and try it then? Sorry if I am being dim...

nLite is so easy to use, it can add files, drivers and such. it makes a duplicate copy of your boot cd but then you can add files or remove them (make your own version of windows if you want) good luck
