    New PSU time?

I was wondering if someone could shed some light on a current dilemma i keep facing. Whenever my mini fridge clicks on (when it starts "whirling") I lose power to my mouse and keyboard for about a second. Is this to do with the rooms "electrical quantity" as I live in a flat or perhaps the sign of a pressured PSU? My PSU is a Tagan 580w that I've had for a few years now. You can check my spec under system to see if I may need upgrading. Cheers!

    Re: New PSU time?

how far away from the PC is the mini-fridge? and is it on the same socket or extension lead?

do you have a surge protector for PC?

and what type of mouse keyboard? wired or wireless?

    Re: New PSU time?

PC is on top of the mini-fridge I actually had the thought to just change it from the surge protector extension lead to a different socket in the room. I'll only know if it worked when my fridge decides to go "click"! Both are wired.

    Re: New PSU time?

probably just a power surge/drain on the socket then.. move the plug to different socket - like you already have done..

wait and see for the next "click".. if its cured it, have a beer on me.. or do you have yoghurt in there? ive got 6 muller yoghurts in mine.. will soon be 3.. its tea-time..

if it doesnt cure it.. then move the fridge from under your pc - could be Electro Magnetic interference, coming from fridge and affecting the stuff sticking out the back of your case - like the usb mice/keyboards.

    Re: New PSU time?

Oooh electro magnetic, like the sounds of that! But so far so good, I had quite a bit plugged into the surge protector so I guess that was probably the reason.

Yoghurt \o/ as I can't afford to buy ANYTHING let alone a nice.. cold.. oh dear the withdrawal symptoms are coming back.
