Quick question regarding processors...

I'm writing a presentation on the PSP's architecture. It has a MIPS R4000 processor, on the PSP it looks like so:

However when you look up the actual processor it looks like: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:KL...MIPS_R4000.jpg

Is it all black with white writing on the PSP due to it having a small kind of heatsink on it? Or is it just a different design or something?

Edit: I understand that the GPU is on it too, so sony have obviously customised it, but surely it wouldn't still look all black on top?

Do Sony Computer Entertainment not make their processors?
Guessing it's just a case of same processor, different design from both manufacturers.

I've opened up a few PSP's in my past and they definitely don't have heatsinks on them, just a black coating.

Quite possibly some kind of Heat dissipation coating.

Well it's based on the MIPS processor so I guess they do but just take some of the technology from the R4000..

It would be very a thin and pointless heatsink if it was... but I was just wondering in case I got any questions about it.
