    Wireless Streaming

    Hi,

I've got a Freecom MG350HD media thingy, and I believe that, using the wireless function, I can stream media from my main computer, through the freecom box, onto my telly. Thing is, I don't have a clue how to do it. Anyone got any hints? I take it I need to share my media folders on the main computer, but how? I'm using a netgear 834g modem/router.

The main reason for doing this is to try and stream content from the BBC iPlayer, so I don't haveto sit in front of the PC for an hour whilst watching the program I've missed...

Any help would be gratefully received.

    Cheers

I take it you have gone through the manual yeah?

    http://www.freecom.com/objects/00010887.pdf

You can only access file shares on your PC as far as I can tell. You won't be able to access iPlayer content unless you can download it and make it available as a shared resource, and I'm pretty sure iPlayer doesn't let you do this.

My player was from Australia and wasn't branded as Freecom, and the manual didn't have much in it at all. I'll certainly read throught that one you posted though, ta. There is an option with iPlayer to download to HD, but there are time limits on how long you can keep the file after downloading.

    Re: Wireless Streaming

Unless they have changed it, the iPlayer downloads are still only playable through the iPlayer application and contain DRM to stop you keeping them.
