PC work from home

I'm pretty much sure this isn't in the correct place.. but I saw "Advisory".

I was wondering if anyone new of any PC-related job that you work from home? [non telephone related]

I was recently hit by a car, and therefore pretty much home-bound

Very little, if it happened whilst you were employed your employers could normally find a way for you to take your work home if it was at all possible, otherwise things like telemarketing, some callcentres can let you work from home, sales stuff - fairly limited. Any of the sites you see for crap like data entry at home or signs you see in the streets "earn £500 a week working from home" - give a wide berth.

Depends for how long. A friend from Australian broke her leg just before starting a contract (IT Support) in the UK and they allowed her to work from home for several weeks. On the 5th week of my first contract in the UK I started working from home and only went into the office about once a month for meetings. If your skills are good enough then it's possible to negotiate it into a contract.

It's quite difficult to find an employer that will allow you to permanently work from home. Best thing is to start/run your own business if it's feasible.

If you aren't already in employment, then its going to be hard tbh.
I work from home quite a lot, I work in IT....but the company I work for is pretty enlightened (that could be because they realised how much value for money they get out of it!).

Many, perhaps even most, employers still operate what I would consider "old fashioned" policies (of course it depends on the type of work).

I agree with all of you, looks like its going to be pretty hard. But as Bugbait said about my own business.. I'd love to eventually own my own PC Repair/Sales department, have my own shop etc.. but thats only a dream at the moment. I'm currently on JSA, but finding a suitable job, withhaving to sort of driving lesson, is proving to be very hard

depends how much you want to make really the odd fiver or so, surveys and incredibly boring but give you money.

out of them 3, i found lightspeed the most boring but do have more surveys per week than the other two.
